Like other Humongous computer games, the Spy Fox games have more than one gamepath. Bigpig at the Greek cantina, can draw pictures in William the Kid's office, or can play "Happy Fun Sub," a game in which Spy Fox tries to collect satellites, buoys, and submersibles while avoiding obstacles. For a diversion, Spy Fox can play "Go Fish" with Mr. Like other Humongous titles, Spy Fox offers a game within the game. Talk balloons enable Spy Fox to ask a character a specific question instead of simply having an ordinary conversation.

The Spy Fox adventures retain the easy-to-use format of the other Humongous computer games, but unlike all the others, the Spy Fox series introduces talk balloons. The Spy Fox series of games are set in a world with characters that parody James Bond, while the overall tone is reminiscent of Get Smart. Upon hearing the music, Blue gets put into a trance and begins to dance with Fox, allowing him to place Wireless into her purse before the dance ends. To do this, Fox must obtain a sheet of waltz music form the conductor on the ship and trade it for a sheet of tango music from Johnny Gecko and discreetly slip it onto the conductor's stand aboard the S.S. When Monkey Penny reveals Blue's association with Kid, SPY Fox is given Walter Wireless and is assigned to slip him into Blue's purse. In the Car Chase Path, it is revealed she is obsessed with the tango and it is the only music to which she will dance. In all storylines, speaking to Russian Blue grants SPY Fox the Russian Blue talk balloon, which he can or must use on Monkey Penny. Russian Blue appears in all versions of the storyline, but she is only important in the Car Chase storyline.
